Why virtual run alone are still fun to do ? Running Sport psychology & mind-set management for better results by elearningsport - 03/05/202003/05/20200 Today, I participated to my first virtual worldwide race: Wings for Life World Run. The principle is quite simple Download their app Start running at a specific date and time. Here it was May 3rd at 13:00 CET Run as far as possible, anywhere you want (either your usual route or different one) Enjoy… When does the race finishes ? Up to you and to your speed…as you are chased by a virtual car, which goes faster as the distance covered increase. Pretty cool isn’t it ? Obviously, it will never feel like being in a race village, getting ready, feeling the adrenaline, checking other participants and taking pictures….But still it was really cool. Also, of course you run for a great cause. This year was to support that will help to find a cure for spinal cord injury. 100 % of all fees and donations goes to the charity. Few facts It is during adversity, like those days, that we see our real personality. Whatever sport you like or you do, mental strength is key regardless at the level you compete. Time to time, I look at those quote from famous athletes and always remember to apply those in my sport and personal life Personally, I find this experience really cool. Also also like, the app give you audio motivation ….or you can hear the car chaser driver when it gets closer to you. It is a good way to find motivation. Knowing that with your run, although alone, you make a difference is a great feeling of achievement also I feel we take too much ‘normal’ things (like walking and running) for granted. So helps you to stay humble and appreciate what you have. So never forget that if you run, it is a gift For the record, the car caught me after 16km. Definitely want to have more of those challenge and I am looking forward for the next one. Already pre-register it.
